Miss Saigon is a musical by Claude-Michel Schönberg and Alain Boublil, with lyrics by Boublil and Richard Maltby Jr., which premiered in 1989 and tells the tragic tale of a doomed romance between a young Vietnamese woman and an American soldier during the Vietnam War, and has since become a beloved classic of musical theatre.
